My name is Laurie Chapman, I work in Pottery, Painting and Mixed Media Art.
Biography

Laurie Chapman, a University of North Florida graduate, holds a BFA in Ceramics and a minor in Drawing and Painting. Her roots in the Seacoast area, combined with 30 years in York, form the backdrop for her creative journey. Alongside her husband Greg, she parents a blended family of six children.
​
Laurie's diverse experience includes teaching art in private schools, fostering art education among children through self-employment, and contributing as an Edtech in the Village Elementary School. Her artistic heart beats for ceramics and painting.
​
Beyond the classroom, Laurie integrates creativity into social skills, reading, and weaving artists' stories into writing and projects. She's led Adult Bible studies, spearheaded a women's cooking and Bible study group, and directed VBC and VES Art stations.
​
Ceramics and painting stand as her primary mediums of inspiration. Beyond her artistic pursuits, Laurie finds joy in paddle boarding, lakeside moments, exploring the beach and the embrace of family and friends.
​
Almost two years retired from the school district, Laurie embraces a new chapter, fully dedicating herself to her art and immersing herself in the vibrant culture of creativity.
Laurie also, is on the York Art Association Board of Directors, and holds the position of Education Chair, and is on the curitorial team.
